Who are UX/UI Designers?

Modern business success is hugely dependent on how much users enjoy the application. UX stands for User Experience. UX designers are responsible for making applications user friendly and making sure users have a great experience while they are interacting with the business applications.

UX designers main responsibilities are product research, gathering feedback from clients, outlining information architecture (when and what information clients will see), creating wireframes (how is the information going to be displayed), prototyping the product, and product testing. UX design is a never ending process as every innovation starts from UX design.

What you will learn in UX/UI Designer?

Product Research

Product research (which naturally includes user and market research) is every UX designer’s starting point for a UX design project. It provides the foundation for great design as it allows designers to avoid assumptions and make information-driven decisions.

Creating Personas and Scenarios

Based on the product research results, the next step for a UX designer is to identify key user groups and create representative personas. A persona is a fictitious identity that reflects one of the user groups for whom they are designing.

Creating Wireframes

How to design wireframes. Wireframes should represent each screen or step that a user might take while interacting with a product.

Prototyping

The prototype is a middle-to-high fidelity representation of the final product. Prototypes give you a taste of how to interact with a product.

Sketch

Sketch is a vector graphics editor for macOS developed by the Dutch company Sketch B.V. It was first released on September 7, 2010 and won an Apple Design Award in 2012. It is primarily used for user interface and user experience design of websites and mobile apps.

Axure RP Pro

Axure RP Pro / Team is software for creating prototypes and specifications for websites and applications. It offers drag and drops placement, resizing, and formatting of widgets.

Adobe XD

Adobe XD  is a vector-based user experience design tool for web apps and mobile apps, developed and published by Adobe Inc. It is available for macOS and Windows.

HTML/CSS

HTML (the Hypertext Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) are two of the core technologies for building web pages. HTML provides the structure of the page, CSS the (visual and aural) layout, for a variety of devices.

Soft-Skills

Knowing all of the above technologies is the core of UX/UI Designers’ skills. However, if you want to get an offer of employment from one of your DREAM companies, you will also need to have the soft-skills(people’s skills). Being successful in a career depends on the soft-skills, which include communication, leadership, ownership, business intelligence, etc. In UX/UI Design course, mentors give lectures on the big picture of the work environment and share their experiences from their career to help prepare DevX students for what to expect from interviews, jobs, and careers.
